About

Something Mostly is a community for people who like to build things. Mostly in tech. Sometimes in life. Maybe in other areas too.

We like building, solving problems, memes, and probably don't love LinkedIn.

It started simple: a group of friends I've made over the years. Founders, designers, engineers, the occasional person who doesn't have a title yet but clearly makes things. People who I'd want to connect in a group chat anyway. So I made one. Finally. Sorta... Mostly..

My hope here is two parts.

What happens here

This isn't an always-on chat to keep up with, it's a community that's around when you need it, with regular meetups from time to time to see each other and get behind each other's ideas.

People share what they're working on. They ask for help when they're stuck and give it when they can. They post the win, the mess, the mostly-finished thing, and any wisdom they may have. Tech questions, business questions, the harder stuff nobody warns young founders about. Hiring, firing, burnout, what to do when it isn't working.

Growing, and helping others grow

As we grow, we help others grow. Up-and-coming builders. People who want to learn but don't know where to start. People who are good at the craft and trying to figure out the rest.

Occasionally that may turn into something more structured. A cohort. A short course. A few weeks of going deep on a thing with people who want to learn it together. When that happens, I'd love for it to come out of the community.

No gurus or LinkedIn cringe please. Just be authentic.

Want in?

It's invite-first for now while the early group sets the tone. If that sounds like something you're mostly interested in, reach out and tell me what you're building.
